5 Makeup Looks For NYE

On all major events like new years eve everyone spends so much time planning their outfit and all the accessories, but seems to forget that makeup is a major accessory too! I picked out five existing makeup tutorials that would look great for nye '11. At night you can go a little heavier with your makeup, so be dramatic and try something daring that you wouldn't normally wear. Because nye only happens once a year...

Galactic Beetlejuice *

Sorry this is a rushed first post after christmas, I wanted to get one out there! Hope everyone had a fabulous time, I know I had a lot of fun. I wanted to do a quick kind of product review/what I'm wearing/showing off a christmas present!

Christmas Baking

I love cooking and making things but due to poor funds and so much time spent working, I thought I'd go for an easy one and make the ever classic Peppermint Creams.

I loove peppermint creams for their gooey texture and high sugar content, and they are so fun to make - reminiscent of childhood and playdough.

Hair Inspiration

So I've been thinking that I'm really bored of my hair. I quite like the cut at the moment because its quite versatile,  but the colour I am especially bored of. Maybe I should change it? Any ideas on what colour I should go? I've had almost everything so im quite at a loss. (my a button is cocking up and having to jab it really violently)

So here's some hair inspiration that I quite like, maybe people should throw some suggestions my way...

I'm not feeling christmassy at all this year so I'm doing allsorts of christmas related things to try and get myself in the mood for it. Oh and I've got the most insane hiccups right now and its really distracting..

Product Review: Body Shop Sparkler Atomizer *

One of the perks of my job includes a few freebies at christmas. Among the freebies this year was a sparkler atomizer, I recieved mine in gold. These pretty bottles are not only good decorations for the dressing table, but are fabulous for those who love a glittery party look. They spray a fine dry shimmer and can be used on the face, body and also on the hair, and look super pretty:

1990 was 21 years ago

As the entire world probably knows it was my birthday last week, and I've got round to blogging about all the beautiful things I've been given by my lovely friends and family, and all the fun I had!

A lot of my photos are missing because they're on a disposable camera that I haven't got round to developing yet, so when I do, I'll post a few up.

Happy Birthday Mr President

I've been suuper busy with my dissertation so neglected this a lot. I'm useless..

So anyway heres my belated halloween post. This year I knew I'd be really busy so I wanted something quick and easy, so I went for the "shot in the head"

Here was my practice run. My blood was a litle off, but the wound was quite good. On the night it looked like this..

Men & Shoes

                                           (Source: Hurts Online)
Hello! Apologies for not posting last week. I was ill and didn't really have the engery to do much. Hope everyone has been enjoying these beautiful days - and not forgetting the nights; the stars have really been something lately. Stunning. So this week I thought I'd post a male orientated post - hence the picture of the flawless group Hurts. I love their style, its so clean and crisp and masculine. If only more men dressed like them!

I know men aren't as obsessed with shoes as women (even though they should be) but there really are some amazing shoes out there for the lads lately. Lodger Footwear have an exceptional Shoe of the Month this april - The Burlington Country Brogue. At £450 it seems like a pricey buy, but oh is it worth it. The detail Lodger put into every shoe amazing and this one is no different. The colour is beautifully rich and makes it easy to take the shoes from day to night. I just love how they have taken influence from hiking shoes - with a strong heel, and large hooks with a subtle thin lace in a contrasting cream. I adore these. They may be the shoe of the month but they are timeless and will last forever.

Another one of my favourite trends for male shoes at the moment is the coloured heel. Fin's for him have perfect examples of this trend.

It looks brilliant, doesn't it! This particular shoe is called The Carter and is priced at £185 and also comes in a grey upper with purple sole, and a brilliant blue with a brown sole. My favourite thing about the pair pictured is the the website states the sole colour as "electric" which is truly is. This is the perfect way to inject some colour into your outfit - whether you like the blue or purple more these are a fabulous summer trend that you will want to be part of.

Crackle Polish & Cracked Heels

                                          (Source: Unknown)

This week I've come across some new clothing lines! The First is the Amy Winehouse collection with Fred Perry. It sounds awful at first, doesn't it? Although at a closer inspection it isn't that bad. I'm generally not a fan of Fred Perry, I have owned a couple of items in past but never really been a regular shopper. The new line collaborates the fred perry style with Amy's mod designs. I think it's a little bit disappointing - literally what you expect with a lot of check shirts and polos but I guess that is the style she is most known for. This embroidered crop cardigan is lovely, the bold colour in a crop is on trend with some of this season's styles and it feels very 1950's pinup. This straw waist belt is also eye catching, and reminds me of summer (straw always reminds me of the sun for some reason) and i think would look lovely with a floral dress. Not so keen on the matching visor and clutch bag however, but if you love your Fred Perry you will probably like this collection too.

Spring & Skincare

                                          (source: Lovely Package)

So in the wide world it's been a busy week, with Japan hit by a superearthquake and also a Tsunami on Friday 11 March. My thoughts are with all those affected, those who have lost their lives and those who lost family and friends.

On a lighter note, I've come across a witty blog. For those who know The Sartorialist (if not, check the link beforehand or it won't make much sense) comes The Catorialist, archiving feline fashion. It's an enjoyable read that will make you smile at the whimsical writing. For another laugh, also Take a weird break. It's a collection of all the ridiculous headlines in those cheap weekly "real life stories" magazines that everyone has seen. One of my favourite blogs.

The First and last post are always the hardest. Welcome to the only column you'll ever need..

So its spring soon, after what seems like the longest winter, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who can feel the air changing outside and packing away the coats already..
If you're thinking about building up your s/s wardrobe, give yourself a headstart with a 20% off voucher in the latest issue of More! magazine. (issue 686 14 march '11) for New Look, with a free insert so you can get a glimpse at all the goodies on offer.

So I'm planning to write this on a weekly basis, covering absolutely everything in life; not just for females, but also for the men who like to take care of themselves too.
